Q: I have long dry times?
A: Your dryer vent has a blockage, the correct amount of airflow is not passing through
to your exit vent. you need to have your vent cleaned.
Q: The inside of the dryer and the laundry room is very humid?
A. Your dryer vent is clogged or has a blockage, the air is not escaping from your vent.
The air is coming right back to your dryer due to a blockage. The airflow is not reaching
your exit vent outside of your home.
Q: My dryer is not heating up?
A: Since your vent has a blockage, the air that is being pushed out of your dryer can't escape.
All dryers have temperature sensors. If the air cannot escape, it overheats your dryer motor
and it is turning off your gas to prevent a dryer fire.
Q: Should I call an appliance technician or a warranty service company first?
A: No! Appliance technicians will charge you money for a service call. When they come out
the first thing they will ask you is " Have you had you vents cleaned ? " This is a service that they
do not do! They usually won't fix anything on your dryer until you have had your vents cleaned.
So, nothing will get fixed. But you will pay out of pocket for there service call.
It's better to call a dryer vent cleaner first, then an appliance techncian second.

Q: Is there a test to determine whether its my dryer or dryer vent?
A: Yes, and here is a quick test you can do. First, pull your dryer out from the wall and disconnect
the dryer hose from the duct on the wall. Put a pair of panty hose with a rubber-band at the end of
this hose. The lint will now blow into that instead of all over. Now run the dryer on a timed dry cycle.
If the dryer or the dryer vent hose stays hot and blows hot for 1 minute you have a dryer vent problem
and not a dryer problem! So now you can hold off on purchasing a new dryer or calling an appliance
technician.
* Please note if you are running a gas dryer you should take extreme precaution and perfom this test
at your own risk. Gas is very flammable. So be very careful not to ignite any gas or run your dryer for
any longer than 1 minute.
This 1 minute test just saved you money!
